Ryka focuses on female runners

Footwear brand Ryka, owned by Caleres, has launched the Windswift LX, which it describes as its most advanced performance running shoe to date.

The brand said the new model is designed around women's biomechanics, including the Q Angle, the inside angle of the quadriceps muscle, which it says is typically greater in women than in men. The shoe features a female-specific last with a narrower heel and wider forefoot intended to improve fit, comfort and running efficiency.

According to Ryka, independent testing by Heeluxe found the Windswift LX performed comparably to leading running shoe competitors. The company added that wear testers logged more than 300 miles during product testing.

Technical features include a revised Q-Foam midsole, a lightweight rubber outsole, engineered mesh upper, anatomical insole and reflective details for visibility in low-light conditions.

The Windswift LX is available in seven colourways and in women's sizes 5-12, with both medium and wide fit options.
