Coats readying 4orest for Lineapelle debut
Coats Footwear will present 45-55% recycled cellulosic material 4orest at leather fair Lineapelle in Milan over February 20-22.
The wood-based product is Forest Stewardship Council-approved and “ideal for insoles in women’s shoes and beyond”, Coats said. It has been developed to maintain dimensional stability under minimum mean peak pressures of 300 kilopascals (kPa), according to the Mullen burst test, versus virgin-fibre materials with a comparable two-millimetre gauge.
Other highlights include Cyclea, a reinforcement material made from post-industrial leather surplus, which can be produced with up to 100% recycled content if recycled polymers are also used. Shoe assembly technologies ProWeave, Powerflex, Cotton T438, EcoVerde and Rhenoprint Multizone will likewise be on display.
“Every year, more than a billion pairs of shoes are made that incorporate our threads and or structural components,” commented the company’s brand-facing global head of sales, Bryan Whitfield.
“We look forward to Lineapelle and to sharing our expertise and insights with customers at this prestigious event.”
