Chengdu to welcome this month's IULTCS congress
The thirty-seventh International Union of Leather Technologists and Chemists Societies (IULTCS) congress is due to commence in the southwestern Chinese city of Chengdu, Sichuan province, on October 17.
Organisers of the in-person event expect to welcome more than 300 attendees from approximately 15 territories. The main objective is to increase industry confidence and accelerate the revival of high-quality leather manufacture around the world, they said.
Professor Yujia Xu, associate chemistry professor at Hunter College in New York, will notably take to the stage to present this year’s Heidemann Lecture, named in honour of late leather scientist Professor Eckhart Heidemann, who passed away in 1999.
Delegates will also be treated to 94 poster displays and 60 peer presentations.
