Increase in demand from overseas buyers, Micam organisers say
The organisers of the Micam and Mipel exhibitions, which ran in Milan from September 17-20, have said 42,273 visitors attended across the four days of the event. They said this represented an increase of 21% compared to the September events last year.
There were growing numbers of visitors from Spain, France and Germany; as regards non-EU countries, there was what the organisers called “a long-awaited return of visitors from China” as well as good numbers from Japan and North America.
They said an increase in demand on the part of overseas buyers had been in evidence at Mipel and Micam, with 129 different countries represented among the visitors.
Around 2,000 brands presented new collections for the spring-summer 2024 fashion season.
