Japanese bespoke shoe repair atelier Recouture, which specialises in sole-swapped athletic footwear and made-to-order casual styles, has taken the decision to close its Shibuya storefront.

The shop originally opened in 2019, after it was relocated from Kokubunji, Tokyo.

Founder, cobbler Shun Hirose, told local media that, despite being close to his heart, he had simply run out of the time, space and manpower to run the location effectively. Such is the level of demand for Recouture-made shoes at present, online orders for repairs and customisation have been suspended.
