Toray to expand carbon fibre plant’s capacity by 3,300 tons
Toray Advanced Materials Korea is to add 3,300 tons in annual capacity of Torayca carbon fibre reinforced thermoplastics (CFRTPs) to its Gumi 4 facility in the city of Gumi, North Gyeongsang.
The goal is for the plant to become operational by the second half of 2025. Following the expansion, its yearly output is expected to reach up to 8,000 tons of CFRTPs. Japan-based Toray Group’s global carbon fibre supply will subsequently swell to 70,000-tons strong.
