Gandys aims to save children scavenging in rubbish dumps

The pair – who were orphaned, alongside two siblings, in the 2004 tsunami – have since worked to help other orphans and disadvantage children by using profits from the brand to set up ‘kids’ campuses’ that provide shelter, food and education.
The first centre was set up in Sri Lanka in 2014, followed by Malawi, Nepal and Brazil.
“We now have kids finishing school and those from our original campuses becoming doctors and lawyers,” said the brothers.
“The goal of the project in Mongolia is to stop children scavenging on the garbage dumps in Ulaanbaatar for survival. We want to break this cycle of poverty through education, providing our kids with the skills to build a better future for themselves and their families.”
