After a couple of years of wear-away uppers in select styles (such as the Air Force 1 Olympic) from Nike, the novelty has now been applied to Air Max 1s in the “summit white/white/sail/medium khaki” colourway. 

The new Nike shoe is called the Air Max 1 Yours and is set to be released via a raffle on Asphaltgold, among other websites. 

Each pair comes with an abrasive cloth, which can be used to scratch away at the white leather upper to reveal a rough, raw-edged hidden khaki layer underneath. 

The idea is for the shoes to look as though they have been scuffed up after a lifetime (or less) of wearing, allowing for a DIY aesthetic approach from the wearer-designer.
