Hong Kong-based footwear group Stella International has reported sales of $841.2 million for the first nine months of 2020. It shipped 32.6 million pairs of shoes over the period.

Compared to the same months last year, these figures represent declines of 29.3% in value and of 28.5% in volume.

The average selling price per pair was $25.80 in the period from January to September 2020, down by 1.1%.

Stella attributed the falls to covid-19, but said the “rate of decline” had slowed down towards the end of the period as retail stores gradually reopened. It said it was “cautiously optimistic” about the fourth quarter of the year.
