Ballet icon dances in Stuart Weitzman stilettos

The holiday campaign features a video of Ms Copeland dancing to a contemporary version of “The Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy” from the Nutcracker ballet, but she’s not in her typical ballet slippers. Ms Copeland wears a variety of Stuart Weitzman styles — which is no small feat — in a performance she choreographed herself.
The campaign is intended to project “a powerful message this season,” according to the company. “Strength in femininity is worth celebrating, and we are doing so through bold movement, energy and dance.”
“Being a ballerina, we’re not just dancers, we’re also athletes,” said Ms Copeland. “You’re dancing in tulle. You look beautiful. And there is just this crazy power that maybe people don’t see.”
