Stuart Weitzman owner eyes China growth with Alibaba partnership

                    It says the platform will allow Tapestry’s Data Labs team to gain insight into the local market and boost sales.
The Coach, Kate Spade and Stuart Weitzman brands will have stores on Tmall Luxury Pavilion, Alibaba’s platform for luxury and premium brands.
Recently appointed Tapestry CEO Jide Zeitlin said: “Tapestry is committed to the Chinese market. We have a leadership position in China and our brands have tremendous opportunity for further growth.
“Tmall is at the forefront of the fast-paced digital eco-system in China, highlighted by their inn Sales to Chinese consumers represents less than 20% of Tapestry’s revenue.
Noam Paransky, chief digital officer at Tapestry, said: “Coach has been in China for over 20 years and has been an early digital pioneer. Building on that success, this partnership signifies the first step in our new ChinaNext digital innovation agenda, which will not only drive local engagement, but will also provide learnings that we can use on a global scale.”
