Ecco helps build fire station in Indonesia

Tannery and footwear group Ecco has revealed that its Indonesian division has contributed to the building of a new fire station. It is located near to the site of a shoe factory and a tannery it operates in the city of Sidoarjo.

The company explained that it until recently the city, located in East Java, only had four fire stations. The new station, which was inaugurated in September, will help shorten response times to emergencies in the area. It will also serve as an education point for students, surrounding communities and Ecco’s employees in the region. 

The new facility is the result of a collaboration between Ecco Indonesia and the local government in Sidoarjo. Ecco provided funding for the site, with the government supplying the fire engines and fire brigade personnel.
