Creative director leaves Stuart Weitzman

High-end footwear brand Stuart Weitzman, owned by US leathergoods group Tapestry, has announced the resignation of its creative director Giovanni Morelli.

In a statement, Tapestry CEO Victor Luis said: “While we greatly admire Giovanni’s creative talents, Tapestry is committed to an environment where every individual feels respected and at times his behaviour fell short of these standards.”

He added that the brand has the “utmost confidence” in the remaining members of its design team under the direction of CEO and brand president Eraldo Poletto. 

Stuart Weitzman said it has already begun the search for Mr Morelli’s successor.
