Wolverine aligns itself to trades with Project Bootstrap

Footwear group Wolverine is aligning itself with the next generation of trade workers through a campaign that aims to help bridge the “growing skills gap”.

The company is offering scholarships and donations to students at trade schools across the US, as well as 2,000 pairs of boots, through Project Bootstrap.

It quotes a survey by consultancy Deloitte that says over the next decade, from 3.5 million US-based manufacturing jobs, 2 million will not be filled.
