US leathergoods group Michael Kors looks set to complete the acquisition of UK-based luxury shoe brand Jimmy Choo after the European Commission gave its “unconditional clearance” to the deal.

The European Commission ruled that all conditions related to the deal have now been satisfied and that it can proceed.

Michael Kors agreed to purchase Jimmy Choo for £896 million ($1.2 billion) in July.

The footwear brand expects the deal to become effective on October 31.
