Optimism as Couromoda 2017 gets underway

He was speaking as the 44th running of the event got underway in São Paulo. It runs from January 15 to 18.
Mr Santos paid tribute to the footwear companies who are attending this year, praising them for coming up with creative ways to generate sales at a difficult time for the industry.
Heitor Klein, executive president of footwear association Abicalçados, predicted that the fair would mark the start of a year of recovery for Brazil’s footwear industry, especially in terms of domestic sales. He added that he believes there will be sustained, if slow, growth throughout 2017.
