Footwear and leather account for 33% of fashion manufacturing jobs in Spain

A Madrid-based risk management company, Cesce, has calculated that the number of manufacturing companies linked to Spain’s fashion industry reached 19,494 in 2015. This figure represents an increase of 1% compared to the year before, giving the first rise in 13 years, Cesce said.

The same organisation said these manufacturing companies were responsible for a collective total of 138,361 jobs in Spain at the end of 2015, 3.4% up on the corresponding figure for the year before.

It said footwear and leather account for 33% of this total.
