Sports footwear brand Mizuno has become the latest brand to turn to Michelin’s technical sole technology, announcing that it will feature in its Wave Daichi and Wave Mujin ranges.

Michelin announced a joint-venture with Chinese textile manufacturer Jihua at the end of 2014 to make high-performance soles for the technical footwear market. Since then, several brands have signed up to use the technology including Italian outdoor footwear specialists Salewa.

Mizuno said it decided to partner with Michelin to offers its customers a product equipped to deal with the varied and challenging terrain that comes with trail running. It added that the specially-developed Michelin sole will help Mizuno shoes better adapt to irregular terrain and help trail runners to avoid potentially dangerous situations.
