Suspension for South African footwear cluster

A South Africa-based leather publication has reported that the National Footwear & Leather Cluster (NFLC) has been closed, following an investigation by new management.

Executive director Ernest Heunis told S&V Mag the closure was temporary pending restructuring but did not give a reason for the suspension.

The NFLC has a footwear factory, and research facilities based at the Vaal University of Technology in Vanderbijlpark.
