Istanbul-based footwear manufacturer Tanca has said an increase in the quality of the shoes it is able to make has helped it expand into overseas markets.

The company makes 1.5 million pairs of shoes per year and employs 1,000 people. It specialises in high-end fashion footwear for men and women.

In recent comments to local media, the company’s chief executive, Kemal Tanca, said he has been able to secure distribution partnerships with retailers in the US, the Netherlands and South Africa. But he also said ten Italian footwear brands have been in touch with Tanca to explore the possibility of using the Turkish company as an outsource manufacturing partner.
