The global footwear market is estimated grow at 5% per year for the next five years and be worth $371.8 billion by 2020, according to research firm Research and Markets.

It says leather footwear made up 60% of the market in 2014 and will continue to be the dominant material.

Asian companies had total revenues of $116.9 billion in 2014, according to the report, and this is likely to grow at 4.7% per year.
