Former CTC, Crockett & Jones and Reebok man passes away
Leather and footwear testing institute CTC has announced “with great sadness” that Roland Steyns has passed away.
Mr Steyns helped to set up CTC Dongguan, China, in 2007, and also worked as a footwear consultant to the European Commission.
Previous roles include production director at Crockett & Jones and managing director for Indonesia and India at Reebok.
He was also project director South China for leather research institute Centre Technique du Cuir.
CTC said: “Roland was a quiet, efficient, courteous and pleasant man, always available for clients and colleagues.
“As a skilled professional, Roland has developed a strong understanding of footwear global supply markets, within both the fashion and sport sectors.
“Our condolences go out to his family and friends.”
