Vietnam shipped shoes worth $3.5 billion to the EU last year

Vietnamese leather and footwear industry association Lefaso has said shipments of shoes from the Asian country to the European Union (EU) had a value of $3.5 billion in 2014.

This gave the EU a 34% share by value of all of Vietnam’s footwear exports.

Lefaso said Vietnamese manufacturers exported footwear to 16 of the 28 EU states in 2014, with Belgium, Germany and the UK the three most important EU markets for the sector.
