Mexico registers a big jump in footwear exports

Mexico’s footwear exports increased by more than 20% between 2011 and 2013, according to CICEG, the footwear industry association of the country’s most important shoe-producing state, Guanajuato.

In recent comments to local media, CICEG president, Ysmael López García, put the figure for exports from Mexico in 2013 at 26.8 million pairs. This represents an increase of 22.4% compared to the 2011 figure, 21.9 million pairs.
