Shandong-based footwear company Weihai Golden Monkey made the leather boots for members of China’s sporting delegation who attended the Beijing 2022 opening ceremony, local media have revealed. 

Black, white and short boot styles were all created especially for the ceremony after the firm was approached to produce samples back in October with only one week’s notice, it said, adding that the General Administration of Sport had presented it with “high standards and strict requirements” for the shoes’ warmth, comfort and aesthetics.
