The five winners of the Scandinavian Outdoor Award for autumn-winter 2023 have been announced, with the top accolade going to Norway-based Alfa for technical boot Stad.

Alfa uses wool from Norwegian sheep, woven to give better tear resistance than more commonly used felted wool. It uses nubuck as reinforcement and a Vibram Megagrip sole for traction in winter.

The Sustainability Award was won by Sweden’s Silva for its new Terra Scout, a headlamp made from hemp instead of plastic.
