US-based active outdoor footwear and apparel group Columbia Sportswear Company, whose brands include Columbia Sportswear, Montrail, Mountain Hardwear, Pacific Trail, and Sorel, has appointed Christian Finell as general manager Europe. He joins the company from Salomon SA, where he has worked for 17 years, most recently serving as head of Salomon EMEA (Europe, Middle-East, and Africa).

In his new role, based at Columbia’s European headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, Mr Finell will be responsible for managing all aspects of sales, marketing and operations of the company in Europe.
