The Brazilian Association of Leather, Shoe and Leathergoods Manufacturers (Assintecal) launched a new publication, 'Footwear Adhesives - Products and Applications' at Fimec held in Novo Hamburgo last week.

Sponsored by Petrobrás Distribuidora, Amazonas Quimicam, Artecola, Brascola, Bayer, FCC Fornecedora, Killing, Rhodia and Una, the catalogue, authored by technology consultant Luis José Coelho, is designed to be a 'pocket reference manual', providing information on  the technology added to footwear adhesives and information on glues, cements and auxiliary products. It also explains how to use adhesives, describes the different types of adhesive and adhesive systems currently available, their chemical composition, plus trends in the use of adhesives.

2,000 copies of the publication have been printed in Portuguese and Spanish.
