Vietnam: second-largest footwear exporter in February
According to figures released by the General Department of Customs, Vietnam held its position as the world's second-largest footwear exporter in February, with a turnover of $1.17 billion.
Despite a 40.3% decrease from the previous month, Vietnamese footwear reached over 150 global markets, constituting 10% of the global supply. Total footwear exports for the first two months totalled $3.1 billion.
Major markets, including the US, EU and UK, showed strong growth, particularly the US with a 25% year-on-year increase. China remained Vietnam's second-largest buyer, followed by Belgium.
Vietnam aims to achieve ambitious export turnovers of $27-28 billion by 2025 and $38-39 billion by 2030, with a projected annual growth rate of 10-12% between 2022 and 2026.
