Sales of Gel-Kayano 14s triple in a year
Japanese sports group ASICS has reported a 17.7% sales increase over the 12 months ended December 31, bringing in roughly $3.8 billion or ¥570.4 billion.
The business likewise registered a 77.4% year-on-year rise in net income for the period, it said, taking it to just under $235 million or ¥35.2 billion, a record high.
Outdoor brand Haglöfs’ sale in December raised approximately $45 million (¥6.5 billion).
Kobe-based ASICS’ performance running category remained by far its most significant, reaching $1.9 billion (¥285.9 billion) after growing 10.7% year on year. Fashion-led sales of the Gel-Kayano 14 tripled versus the comparative period, the company added.
