High-end brand Loro Piana has secured a ruling from a court in Turin that will prevent rival brands from imitating its White Sole style of footwear.

Loro Piana launched the White Sole style in 2005. It is inspired by classic boat shoes, but the company insists it has worked carefully with suppliers to come up with soles that add comfort while remaining lightweight.

It said a year ago that it would seek protection from the courts from other shoe brands that it accused of imitating the White Sole style and, at the end of December, secured victory in Turin.
