New adidas Spezials on heels of Newcastle Originals show
Hot on the heels of its Newcastle Originals by adidas Spezial exhibition in partnership with local fashion retailer End, sports brand adidas has released its latest autumn-winter Spezial collection with a campaign fronted by football pundit Roy Keane.
The show took place at gallery Newcastle Contemporary Art between October 27 and November 5.
Rows of adidas trainers signed by the likes of Liam and Noel Gallagher, Run DMC, New Order, The Clash, Stone Roses, Jay-Z and more were all presented alongside apparel, photography and related memorabilia.
The latest adidas Spezial collection comprises seven “unique” silhouettes, including an update on last year’s Moscrop SPZL, the Moscrop 2 SPZL; an all-black Hiaven SPZL with adi-Tex membrane; the 1970s-inspired Samba Deco SPZL, which arrives in two new colourways; and new models the Inverness SPZL, the Englewood SPZL and the Lawkholme SPZL. Curated by Spezial founder and adidas archivist, Gary Aspden, the new shoes will be available for purchase via the adidas Confirmed app and select retailers from November 16.
