The British Footwear Development Trust (BFDT) has launched a grant programme to “enhance skillsets, ignite creativity and fuel growth” across the UK footwear sector, with funding available for individuals and businesses.

Individual grants cover a range of areas, from formal training to hands-on experience, with any position within a company able to apply.

Company grants can fund training to raise the overall proficiency and innovation within the industry.

Helen Errington, a trustee at the charity, said: “The BFDT believes in nurturing the talent and skills that drive the UK footwear industry forward. Our new grant initiatives are a testament to this commitment.”

Applications will open on  September 4 and close at midnight on September 29.
