Major change at Tod’s
Footwear and accessories group Tod’s has announced that its creative director, Walter Chiapponi, will leave in September.
Mr Chiapponi has been in the role since 2019 but will present his last collection for Tod’s, a spring-summer 2024 collection, in Milan on September 22. The group said his departure would be “by mutual agreement”.
The designer said it had been “an extraordinary experience, personally and creatively” to spend four years at Tod’s. He also offered an emotional thank you to the group’s owners, Diego and Andrea Della Valle, saying: “Thank you for the courage, humanity and freedom you have given me to express the best version of myself through Tod’s.”
For his part, the group’s chief executive, Diego Della Valle, said: “We too will remember this experience in the best possible way.”
Tod’s said it would announce its new creative director in the coming months.
