Ecco has launched a new range of leathers taking inspiration from the soft and “slovenly” properties of linen, calling it SLIN.

In naming the range, Ecco  explained, “Linen and leather can often behave like second skin. Hence the name SLIN. We wanted to take that relaxed feel of linen and adopt it into a lightweight leather that drapes just like this beloved summer favourite”.

To achieve the required properties, the leather is extensively milled at high humidity to bring out the pebbled pattern with further post milling work to enhance the fluffy feel.

Recreating popular “weave” type aesthetics, the nubuck leathers are treated to be stain resistant and said to have a powdery feel with a drapey handle.
