Project with Grenson is a dream come true for Billy Tannery

Co-founder of UK-based goat leather manufacturer Billy Tannery, Jack Millington, has described a new project to supply upper material to a famous Northamptonshire footwear brand as a dream come true.

Rushden shoe and boot manufacturer Grenson has used chestnut brown goat leather from Billy Tannery in a new, limited-edition, Goodyear-welted, Derby-style work boot.

Jack Millington said that, on starting up Billy Tannery in 2015, he set a goal of one day supply leather to one of Northamptonshire’s iconic shoemakers and that this new project with Rushden-based Grenson had allowed him to fulfil that objective.

He said Grenson was a brand he had always looked up to and its chief executive, Tim Little, as someone he looked up to. He also said that, with Billy Tannery’s leather having to travel only 25 miles to the Grenson factory he doubted there was a shorter supply chain for a pair of boots anywhere.
