Turnaround at the top for Prada
A new leadership team at luxury brand Prada is taking shape, with the group announcing that Andrea Guerra’s appointment as new group chief executive will be confirmed at a board meeting on January 23.
Mr Guerra, a former chief executive of eyewear brand Luxottica, has been at luxury group LVMH since 2020, first as chief executive of its hotel and hospitality activities and, since midway through 2022, as a strategic advisor to the group.
He will replace long-standing Prada chief executive, Patrizio Bertelli, who will become president of the group, whose brands include Church’s, Car Shoes, Miu Miu, Marchesi 1824 and Luna Rossa, as well as Prada itself.
At the same time, though, the group has announced that Gianfranco D’Attis has joined to become chief executive of the Prada brand from the start of January. He was previously president for the Americas of Christian Dior.
