Leather manufacturing group ISA TanTec has said its newest business unit, Creation Of Sustainable Materials (COSM) has become “a solid pillar”, supporting the group’s growth and sustainability initiatives.

COSM’s focus is on bio-based materials that offer an alternative to plastic-based synthetics. ISA TanTec has said this business unit complements its leather manufacturing by making sustainable materials available to brands that want to offer non-leather shoes and bags.

In recent comments, chief executive, Uwe Hutzler, said it had taken innovation, resources, and determination to push these products forward, but he said the group was now receiving “very positive market feedback” about COSM materials.
