Growth in Q2, but Capri’s full-year outlook is now more cautious

Luxury group Capri, whose brands are Michael Kors, Versace, and Jimmy Choo, has reported revenues of $1.4 billion for the second quarter of its current business year, growth of 8.6% year on year.

However, on reporting these results, it lowered its full-year forecast, blaming an increasingly uncertain macroeconomic environment, currency headwinds and the ongoing impact of covid-related restrictions in China.

Chief executive, John Idol, said growth in the US and Europe had been brisk, with all three brands performing well. But he expressed reservations about the stop-start lockdowns in China and said this was behind the more cautious outlook the group now has for its current fiscal year.
