Waste-reduction idea yields new material at Isa TanTec

Footwear-focused leather manufacturing group Isa TanTec has launched a new material to which it has given the brand name Sun Meadow.

The material is an amalgam of tannery waste such as leather offcuts and wet blue shavings that are gathered up and upcycled into a useable material. From the upcycled material, footwear, accessories, handbags, and other products can be manufactured.

Isa TanTec has said it aims to transform 45% of its production waste into value-added, upcycled material by 2025.
