Shoe producers in Turkey hope for World Footwear Congress boost
Turkey’s footwear industry has responded with enthusiasm to the news that the country will host the the seventh World Footwear Congress next year. The event will take place in Istanbul from May 9-11, 2023.
In response local industry figures said they will be pleased to welcome footwear colleagues from around the world, pointing out that while Turkey is an experienced host of a wide range of international congresses, this will be the first time an international footwear event on this scale will have taken place there.
They said they had high hopes for the event proving to be a positive showcase for Turkish footwear manufacturers and brands and help boost exports.
Turkey’s footwear producers are aiming for export revenues of around $1.4 billion in 2022.
