Stanbee hails ‘around-the-clock’ Asian expansion
New Jersey-headquartered footwear components manufacturer Stanbee has announced plans to expand both its Thai and Vietnamese manufacturing facilities, owing to increased demand for its Nitro line of products.
In Thailand, where the company has a base within the Amata Nakorn Free Zone in Chon Buri, Stanbee will expand its plant by 2,200 square metres to over 6,100 square metres of production, warehousing and administrative space.
The facility already boasts three extruding lines and a full suite of digital cutting equipment.
Meanwhile, the firm’s Vietnamese site, located east of Ho Chi Minh City, will benefit from an additional 6,000 square metres of manufacturing space, on top of the first of three planned extrusion lines. This will give the facility full-scale production capabilities similar to those already found at the Thai plant, Stanbee said.
Chief executive, Michael Berkson, commented: “With these expansions come new capabilities. We’ll be extruding, cutting and shipping from both facilities around the clock, so we can offer our customers more products and shorter lead times. Our work chain is being enhanced from the first step to the last.
"This is a major benefit for our customers, because we’re growing and streamlining at the same time.”
