Gucci and Valentino make senior China hires
Two Italian luxury houses, Gucci and Valentino, have made high-level appointments to their Greater China teams.
Laurent Cathala, a Tiffany & Co alum, has been named president of Gucci’s Greater China fashion business, a new position based in Shanghai. Mr Cathala will report directly to Gucci’s president and chief executive, Marco Bizzarri. His previous roles at Tiffany & Co included president of northern Asia and president of Greater China.
Valentino, meanwhile, has appointed Janice Lam as its Greater China chief executive. Ms Lam’s experience includes a period spent as managing director for China at Alfred Dunhill, plus general manager for China at Prada. She will report into company chief executive, Jacopo Venturini.
