Dr Martens’ new top creative is a familiar face

Footwear brand Dr Martens, headquartered in England, recently revealed that it has promoted its very own former global footwear category product director Darren McKoy to the role of global creative director. 

Before joining the brand in 2015, Mr McKoy previously worked for companies including Asics, VF Corporation and adidas. Commenting on the news, he said: “We’ll continue to innovate and tell the brand story through the way we create, the processes we adopt and the way we interact with our wearers. But we’ll always pay homage and respect to the heritage and history of the brand.”

Chief product officer, Adam Week, added: “It’s clear that Darren has been instrumental in inspiring Dr Martens’ product strategy. He has led from the front to reinforce our iconic, original product while inspiring innovation that always touches on our heritage and, importantly, creating footwear that remains tough and durable - protecting our feet and our brand.”
