Early changing of the guard at Michael Kors

09/03/2022

Versace, Jimmy Choo and Michael Kors parent group Capri Holdings recently announced that the latter brand’s still relatively new chief executive, Joshua Schulman, is already set to leave the company.

The date of Mr Schulman’s departure was not disclosed. He was named chief executive of Michael Kors in late August of last year.

The parting of ways also means that Mr Schulman will no longer succeed John D. Idol as chief executive of Capri in September. Rather, the group announced that Mr Idol will now remain in the dual role of chairman and chief executive at the group and will therefore not be transitioning into the role of executive chairman later this year.

The business leader told reporters that he was “fully committed to continuing to lead Capri Holdings and driving our future success.” An “extremely optimistic” Mr Idol further praised Michael Kors’ management team, the brand’s pre-pandemic strategy (which he said had thus far generated higher profitability) and thanked Mr Schulman for his contributions to the organisation.
