Sympatex taps industry innovator
German materials company Sympatex Technologies has appointed Christoph Alexander Schnell (pictured) to the role of business development manager for its footwear division, responsible for all things technology and innovation, the firm announced recently. 

A shoe technician by training, Mr Schnell has previously spearheaded developments within the design portfolios of firms such as adidas (including the development of its Climacool technology), Formula 1 (the brand’s first-ever fireproof shoes), Puma, Jil Sander and Betterguards, where he was latterly head of footwear. 

He received the 2020 German Design Award for his work on safety shoes for Uvex. 

Commenting on his latest appointment, Mr Schnell stated: “I am both an athlete and a shoemaker through and through. As part of Sympatex, I want to make my greatest possible contribution to our industry to make it sustainable for generations to come.”
