Footwear group Crocs has agreed to acquire casual shoe brand Heydude.

Founded in Italy in 2008, Heydude describes its shoes as “comfortable, versatile and accessible”. For his part, Crocs chief executive, Andrew Rees, said Heydude represented high growth and profitability.

Subject to customary closing adjustments, Crocs will pay just over $2 billion in cash for Heydude and give Crocs shares worth $450 million to the brand’s founder, Alessandro Rosano.
