Footwear brands join prAna’s no-plastic packaging initiative
06/12/2021
With the additions of shoe brands Sorel and Hoka - alongside Outdoor Research, Sephora, Trek - the Responsible Packaging Movement (RPM) launched by Columbia Sportswear-owned prAna has reached 100 signatories.
Merrell and Saucony have also signed up.
When the programme was launched last year, the goal was to eliminate plastic from all consumer packaging by 2021, eliminate the use of materials from ancient and endangered forests by 2022 and virgin forest fibres by 2025.
Brian Thompson, prAna’s vice-president of product, said: “RPM provides a blueprint for how brands can amplify their actions to reduce climate change by creating partnerships and openly sharing best practices in a non-competitive collaborative environment.”
