Japan: shoe imports and exports increase

                    Tokyo-based Japan Leather and Leather Goods Industries Association (JLIA) recently released year-on-year data for the sector’s imports and exports during the month of August.
Leather footwear imports achieved figures for the month of ¥44.26 billion ($389.6 million), up 8.9% year on year. Exports of Japanese-made leather footwear saw a climb of 40% over August 2020 figures, reaching ¥850 million ($7.5 million).
