Salvatore Ferragamo shoes repurposed
Florence-headquartered luxury fashion and leathergoods brand Salvatore Ferragamo has released a 300-piece upcycled collection exclusive to Farfetch’s Positively Conscious selection.
The limited line, named Icon-Up, includes leather shoes which have been recovered from the end of their lifecycle, leftover silks used for embellishments and belts fashioned from surplus production scraps.
Protective drawstring dust bags similarly feature leather cords, which were once factory leftovers. Each bag's fabric body has also been made from scrap or surplus materials.
Third-party certified Favini Remake paper - notably 30% post-consumer waste pulp and 25% pre-consumer leather waste - forms each article’s box packaging (which has also been dry embossed, as opposed to printed, to lessen water and chemical utilisation). 100% recycled tissue paper rounds out the collection’s relatively more eco-minded packaging.
Each element of the range has been made within Italy, both to preserve the brand’s heritage and to lessen its carbon footprint.
